Celebration Burger FAQs
The questions that come up most: how to cook the patty, roasting the portobello, lightening it up, and prepping it ahead for a crowd.
How do you cook the patty?
Season the formed patties just before cooking and sear over high heat for a browned crust, flipping once. Cook ground beef to a safe internal 160°F, per the USDA.
How do you cook the portobello?
Marinate the cap in balsamic, olive oil, and garlic, then grill or roast it until tender. It adds a meaty, umami layer alongside the patty.
Can you make it lighter?
Skip the bacon or the second protein and let the marinated portobello and roasted tomato carry the burger; it is still loaded with flavor.
Can you prep the Celebration Burger ahead for a crowd?
Yes. Roast the tomatoes and portobellos and form the patties ahead, then grill and assemble to order so nothing turns soggy.
