Who Went Home on Hell's Kitchen Season 25 Episode 4?
Jeyda Brooks was eliminated, the second Red Team chef sent home this season and the third chef out overall. Per Gold Derby's episode 4 recap, Ramsay credited her effort but told her she wasn't ready to run one of his kitchens as head chef. The Hell's Kitchen Wiki lists the private chef from Houston in 16th place. It was her second time on the block, after she survived the Episode 2 nominations alongside Serenity "Reni" Lee.
The nominations took a turn. Mya Gonsalves volunteered herself over her overcooked scallops and suggested Jeyda go up with her, while Joy Shi argued that Haley Moss had made more scallop mistakes and should be nominated instead. Ramsay overruled the team: he said Mya was not one of the two weakest cooks that night, sent her back to the line and called Haley forward. In her plea and her exit interview, Jeyda pointed at the fish station for holding up her garnishes and said it felt too soon for her to go.
The Challenge: Beer Pong Pairings
The Red Team won the beer pong challenge 7 to 6. Each chef tossed a ball to land a protein, then a second to land the drink they had to pair with it, and the head-to-head pairs got 45 minutes to cook. According to Gold Derby, eight matchups ran, and in most of them both chefs earned a point. The three that split the teams:
| Protein and pairing | Matchup | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Hanger steak with rum | Georgiana Pahon (Red) vs Jonny Gudino (Blue) | Red point; Jonny's steak was undercooked |
| NY strip with stout | Dylan Duffy (Blue) vs Joy Shi (Red) | Blue point; Joy's potatoes came out grainy |
| Prawns with sake | Kylie Budich (Red) vs Aiden Ricklef (Blue) | Red point; Aiden's noodles were too soft |
| Pork chop with bourbon, lamb with sherry, cod with tequila, duck with whiskey, chicken breast with vodka | Sandra/Mike, Mya/Valentín, Jeyda/Miguel, Haley/Miles, Nadia/Gabe | Both chefs scored |
The women's reward was a private beach day at the Water's Edge Resort and Spa. The men's punishment was deveining more than 200 pounds of shrimp for that night's service. Mike Catuosco, who held the Blue Team's Punishment Pass, did not join the women at the beach.
Dinner Service: The Scallop Spiral
The Red Team lost the service, and Ramsay threw the whole team out of the kitchen. The menu opened with a tableside flambéed prawn appetizer, worked by Valentín Royo for the men and Sandra Leclerc for the women, before the scallops, beef Wellington and the chicken entrée hit the line.
On the red side, Haley Moss cooked the wrong number of scallops and then sent a batch to the pass raw. The team moved Mya Gonsalves onto scallops and hers came up overcooked. Meanwhile Jeyda Brooks was behind on garnish: her first fries were badly undercooked and her spinach went up under-seasoned. The blue side had its own misses, with Miguel Soliz's beef Wellington still cold in the center and Mike Catuosco undercooking chicken, but Jonny Gudino's scallops drew praise and the men stayed in the kitchen. It is the Red Team's second loss of the season, after the Episode 2 service that cost Reni Lee her spot.
Where the Teams Stand
15 chefs remain after Episode 4, out of the original 18-chef all-under-25 cast. The Blue Team holds at eight; the Red Team is down to seven after Jeyda Brooks's elimination.

This Week's Standout Dish: Hanger Steak
Georgiana Pahon's hanger steak won the first point of the beer pong challenge, and the matchup turned on doneness: Jonny Gudino's steak came up undercooked. Hanger is a loose-grained, well-marbled cut that eats best at medium-rare and turns chewy if it goes much further, so a very hot pan and a short sear matter more than a long cook. Rest it, then slice it across the grain, which shortens those long fibers. For a version to make at home, our hanger steak with Haitian epis walks the marinade, the sear and the slice. The USDA's safe minimum for whole beef cuts is 145°F with a 3-minute rest.
Cook the Episode 4 Dishes at Home
Most of this week's proteins have a home version on the site. The bourbon pork chop matchup lines up with our Gordon Ramsay pork chops, Dylan Duffy's winning NY strip with our Hell's Kitchen strip steak, and the whiskey duck round with the crispy duck breast method. The scallops that sank the women have a fix in our Hell's Kitchen scallops guide, the spinach that sent Jeyda home is covered in sautéed spinach with garlic, and the cold-centered Wellington has its temps in the Gordon Ramsay beef Wellington.
