Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (preferably 80/20 mix)

  • 4 slices American Cheese

  • 4 leaves – Butter Lettuce

  • 1 medium sliced – Tomato

  • 4 slices – Dill Pickles

  • 1 small thinly sliced – Red Onion

  • 4 Hamburger Buns

  • To taste, Salt and Pepper

  • Optional Ketchup, Mustard, Mayonnaise

  • For grilling
  • Butter or Oil

Directions

  • Prepare Patties:
  • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
  • Form each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick.
  • Season both sides of each patty with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat Grill:
  • Preheat your grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Lightly oil the grill grates or pan.
  • Cook Burgers:
  • Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4 minutes per side for medium doneness.
  • A couple of minutes before the burgers are done, place a slice of American cheese on each patty and let it melt.
  • Prepare Buns:
