Gordon Ramsay's Chicken Noodle Soup combines tender chicken, egg noodles, and fresh vegetables in a rich homemade broth. This elevated version of the classic comfort food features Ramsay's signature technique of searing the chicken first to enhance flavor, and incorporates aromatic herbs for a restaurant-quality finish.
Start by melting the butter in a large saucepan. Then, toss in the onion, garlic, and seasonings. Saute these over medium-high heat for 7-8 minutes until the onions soften.
Throw in the carrots and celery and let them cook for another 5 minutes.
Pour 3 cups of the chicken broth and crank up the heat until it boils. Then, turn the heat to medium and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Pour the remaining 5 cups of broth and bring it back to a boil. Now's the time to add the noodles and chicken.
Cover the saucepan and let the soup cook until the noodles are tender, which should take around 20-25 minutes.
Let it simmer on the stove for at least 10 minutes before you're ready to serve. Dig in and enjoy!
Notes
Use cold chicken and vegetables when adding them to the soup to prevent overcooking, as they'll warm through naturally in the hot broth.
