The Vitamix A3500 Blender is still the best blender for the money. It’s a simple blender that produces the most exceptional results; it’s costly but still hundreds of dollars less than some of its more advanced competitors. (also see The Ultimate Best Vitamix Blender List – Which Vitamix to Buy Now?) it’s also the quietest blender I’ve ever used, a godsend for my early morning blending needs without waking up the entire family.
I’ve always been a longtime user of the Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series Blender, even though it’s priced more than double of mid-priced blenders. Vitamix was a commercial brand that became a consumer luxury blender that is not for everyone. But if you want a blender that can pulverize anything with the turn of a dial and will likely outlast its 7-year warranty, then Vitamix is for you. It has been my top recombination years.
A good blender should be a part of everyone’s kitchen essentials; It’s not just for soups and smoothies but also for producing silky-smooth purees, making aioli, and emulsifying dressing. A high-speed blender will get thoroughly used for most jobs in the kitchen.
Why You Need a Blender
It’s the only tool that can blend all liquid foods to a creamy texture, whether hot or cold. Blenders are great for making smoothies, milkshakes, and frozen cocktails and for pureeing soups and sauces until they are smooth.
- Look for a tapered container. A tapered jar funnels the fluids around the spinning blades for the smoothest imaginable texture. Jars with straight or flared sides allow some food to miss the blades, producing less smooth purees perfectly. Don’t be impressed with any advertised “extra” blades, especially if the jar isn’t tapered.
- Thick plastic or glass is better than thin plastic. Cheap plastic jars will tend to scratch and hold the color and odor of foods over the years.
- Wattage is the key, but the pulse is. The pulse feature is useful; it gets food moving and breaks it down. At which almost all blending occurs, high speed is the same for all blenders.
Vitamix A3500 Blender (also see The Ultimate Best Vitamix Blender List – Which Vitamix to Buy Now?) stands 20 1/4″ tall, so you can’t store it under your countertop. Each aspect of this patented jar was designed to fold ingredients back to the blades for quicker, smoother blending producing the Vitamix vortex. Smoothies take only one minute or less, while ice crushing needs just a few pulses of the blender.
Add dish soap and water to the blender jar and press the on button when cleaning. It usually takes about one minute while running at the highest speed level. I think it’s an excellent way to clean the blender jar and blades.
Fancy buttons on blenders that come with a preset cleaning button aren’t worth the cost because with or without a preset cleaning button, you’ll still need to clean the blender lid and jar top separately since they aren’t well-cleaned by just running soapy water through the machine.
I’ve been a huge fan of the Vitamix A3500 model; for anyone who wants a blender with the power to liquefy anything in question at a push of a button and will last longer than the manufacturer’s warranty, the Vitamix A2500 is my recommendation and what I used for several years now.
